Two Ways to Work Together
Personal Art-Making Sessions
In these one-on-one sessions, I hold space for you to create memorial art honoring someone you've lost.
We begin with a conversation about what feels most meaningful to you—perhaps imagery inspired by their passions, objects that remind you of them, or materials from their own life.
These sessions are gentle, private, and entirely focused on what resonates with you and your relationship to your loved one.
Custom Memorial Commissions
If you prefer, I can design and create memorial artwork for you. I work collaboratively to understand what would be most meaningful, then bring those ideas to life through my craft.

Examples of Memorial Work
The "Light Over Darkness" Project
I worked with a mother over several years following the loss of her son, creating multiple pieces inspired by an image he had painted on a stone: a sun over a moon with the words "Light over Darkness."
Together we created:
A sculptural paper mache wall hanging for her meditation room
A clay tile incorporated into a mosaic mural in our town park
A ceramic stamp that allowed her to create clay "memory stones" containing ashes
She gave these stones to traveling friends who placed them around the world—honoring her son's excitement about travel. The stories these friends sent back became a continuing legacy. I took one to Hawaii and sent back photos and a story of where it now rests.
Fabric and Quilt Memorials
Honoring a friend through fabric: When my friend passed, I received her fabric collection and created two memorial pieces—a quilt for myself and decorative "flag feathers" for a large parade chicken I was creating. Both projects were infused with the love I felt for her; she was so present in my mind throughout the work.
T-shirt quilt for a grandfather: I transformed a collection of a father's well-worn t-shirts into a small quilt for his grandson, preserving the physical connection across generations. Later, I worked with the same family to create a birthday gift quilt incorporating printed fabric from the son's artwork.
Cherished object repair: A friend asked me to repair her father's dog stuffed animal —a treasured physical connection to him that needed careful restoration.
Fabric holds texture and memories in powerful ways. We can create a work of memorial art together with your materials and inspiration.
Memory Boxes
For my brother's family, I designed a clay memory box where each family member contributed an image representing my nephew. I hand-etched these images into the sides and top of the box, creating a container that holds their collective memories.
